Differential, Transfer Case, and Drivetrain
Inspection, removal and repair or replacement of all components ContactOur ReviewsDifferential Repair, Transfer Case, & Drivetrain
Alongside your Transmission and Clutch, your Differential, Transfer Case, and Drivetrain are equally important components of your vehicle that we know need extra focus and attention sometimes.
Your gearbox runs under high amounts of stress and heat, the fluid within the gearbox is there to provide the necessary lubrication for your gears, bearings, and shafts. Vehicle manufacturers usually recommend that you replace your differential fluid at least once every 25,000-30,000 miles because the chemistry of the fluid breaks down gradually over time.
J&L; Transmission offers differential services for most makes and models of car and truck, alongside our transmission and clutch services. Our differential service will protect your car against failure of your bearings and gears. It also will prevent premature wearing of the gears, and overheating.
This includes the inspection, removal, and repair of damaged gears, as well as the replacement of fluids. We remove and inspect the fill plug, as well as the drain plug, flushing and vacuuming out the old oil in your gearbox, reinstalling the drain plug, filling up the differential with new high quality gear oil, and then reinstalling the fill plug.
Both your drivetrain and your transfer case in specific are important to how your vehicle operates and distributes power. Just like the oil or brake fluids, there is fluid in the transfer case that needs to be flushed periodically. The more you use your four-wheel drive, the more often your Transfer Case fluid will need to be replaced.
You might hear whining or feel vibration/shuttering when turning, this is an indication that the fluid in your transfer case has become contaminated and needs to be replaced. Prevent catastrophic failure, improve your shifting performance, and extend the life of your Transfer Case and Differential today by having your vehicle examined if you experience these or similar symptoms.
Bring your vehicle into any of our Transmission Shops to have your Transfer Case inspected for leaks and damage while we change the fluid. We will drain all of the old, dirty fluid that lubricates the inner components of your differential with brand new, manufacturer recommended and additive rich fluid.
When you bring your vehicle to a J&L; Transmission Shop, you can rest easy knowing you wil be met with the expertise and precision expected of a professional Transmission Repair Shop.
